About

“Don’t ask what the world needs, ask what makes you come alive and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” – H. Thurman

The purpose of Life Ignite is to help you “come alive and go do it”. I also like to call it living a fulfilled life. A fulfilled life is one that…

  • Is purposeful and deliberate
  • Is consciously chosen
  • Is packed full of fun, passion, trials and tribulations

…A life fulfilled is a life that you want to live.

But why is it so hard?

It is easy to get caught up with day-to-day life. The necessity of making a living, putting food on the table, getting the household chores done, driving the kids around and all the things that make your life the way it is…it’s not surprising that most of us never find the time to STOP and consciously ask whether we’re living the life we want to instead of the one we just happen to find ourselves living.

If you’ve decided enough is enough – that you’re ready to come alive and live the life you want to live, rather than the one you “should” livewelcome to Life Ignite, you’re in good company here.

How Life Ignite Can Help…

I know that as soon as you decide you’re ready to do this, you’ll come up against even more challenges…fear, frustration, disappointment, naysayers and more.Making the decision to ignite your life is one thing, following through and making it happen is another.

That’s where Life Ignite comes in. I can help with the stumbling blocks most people face when they start this journey, including:

  • Setting goals you actually can and want to achieve
  • Motivation to keep taking action even when faced with major roadblocks
  • Helping you find what you’re truly passionate about
  • Taking the right steps towards your goals

Who I Am

I’m Harley and I’ve spent a lot of my life living like I ‘ought’ to – with some disappointing results

I grew up in a rural town in western Pennsylvania where everybody knew everyone else and what they were up to. Familiarity and comfort were priorities. I learned quickly that this wasn’t the life for me, so I worked hard to show that I was different.
I was so pre-occupied with trying to be different that I ended up creating a self who wasn’t me. I built walls around me which hid my true self from everyone – including me. It was only when I moved to Philadelphia for college that I started to realize this.

Feeling so out of touch with myself throughout college and knowing I wasn’t on the right path but unsure how to find the right one, I felt lost and disoriented. When I finally started to listen to my heart, I began to find my way again.

In hindsight, it’s really clear that the times I have listened to my heart have resulted in some of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. Things like:

  • 3 months living and studying photography in Tokyo.
At the time, I was afraid of ruining relationships at home and regretted paying so much money to go do this, but none of my fears came true. I learned just as much about who I was not, as I did about who I was while I lived there, and I met a most amazing person who continues to be an inspiration in my life.
  • Becoming professionally certified as a bartender.
In what was a chaotic time professionally – I’d lost my job and was about to take another job I hated – I followed my heart and learned how to bartend, just for fun.
  • A month traveling around China.
I saw an article talking about travel to China and my heart said “Yes!” (no, it wasn’t just good advertising!). I cannot describe the incredible feeling of freedom I felt by choosing to take that trip and the inspiration it continues to give me to follow my dreams.
  • Learning how to salsa dance.
In the middle of a stressful semester while working full time, I honored this desire and never looked back. Sometimes I’ll even dance while I’m cleaning – it makes me feel so alive. It’s the simple things which can make the biggest difference.
  • I created this site as the platform for my business.
It’s taken me years to get to this point but the passion I feel for this shows no sign of slowing down. I choose to continue to honor myself and pursue this as my career.

So I’ve woken up, come alive and I’m doing this every single day.

Will you join me?  Here’s how you can…
